Eighty percent of success is showing up.
Woody Allen
So even tho I am feeling like 20% I am getting out of my jammies and putting on real clothes, and going back into the studio. I have stuff waiting for me, and I can semi-crank out a few things and maybe trick myself into feeling accomplished.
The 'design' I am working with here is very loose. I can make a few pieced sections and then add strips and more strips and it will all add up to a quilt, if I am lucky.
It's about all I can manage on half a brain.
I took a commenter's advice and had Dave get me some Alka-Seltzer Cold medicine, and while it did dry me up, it also shriveled up my kidney's because of the decongestant. It was a trade-off.
So yesterday after I visited my dentist for a cavity that turned out to be in my imagination, I just crawled back into bed, drugless, and slept on and off while watching Designed to Sell which seemed to be on a marathon. By nighttime I was able to join Chumley and Dave on the living room couch to watch American Idol. I am really enjoying this season so much more than last year's. The kids are lots better and JLO and Steven Tyler are fabulous.
So, you didn't miss a thing while I was out. And I am happy to be back, if only at 20%.
PS: Now that February is over (YAY!!!!) I have not forgotten about the prizes for QAWM. I will use the Random Number Generator and announce the winners, on the blog tomorrow. So I am a few days late for February...Prizes are prizes anyway.

I feel for you. I'm just getting back on my feet too. May rule of thumb for cold medications is lots of warm water, steam baths etc. I would only use the medications if I had to go to something. I've read that drying up the passages with meds makes it last longer. So I stick to natural unless I need an antibiotic which I did.
ReplyDeleteTake care. Your colors are enough to add some cheer to your day.
I like the directions you've been taking with the careful piecing and the free-form design. It's interesting to look at, and the regular piecing gives the eye places to rest.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon. My attitude toward colds is that they're Nature's way of saying, "You are not the center of the Universe. The world can function just fine without you for a few days." Just accept the gift of the right to take some time off.
Just an FYI--when i have sinus issues, my teeth do hurt sometimes. Your sinuses are right there above the teeth so when there is pressure you can feel it in your teeth. Just another something to deal with!! LOL
ReplyDeleteWell, crap. I'm so sorry the AP didn't work for you. I've never had side-effects from it and have always felt better. I hope it's gone soon because I rely on your daily posts for feel-good color and smiles! I can't wait to see this new piece!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for getting up and sharing with the world even though you feel crappy.
ReplyDeleteThose bright colors are just the thing for my cabin fever blues.
Glad you're feeling better. Rest, rest, rest. It's the best medicine :)
ReplyDeleteYou know, Melody, that some people's 20% is better than other people's 100%. Glad you are feeling better! But your quilting did not suffer.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Terri---you do more and better at 20% than many of us can manage at 100%! The colors are wonderful! (I'm SO tired of Minnesota snow.)
ReplyDeleteHope that you recover quickly!
I'm glad you're feeling somewhat better.
ReplyDeleteI think your colors sing, even in a more traditional project...
