The Fridge

I got to Lowe's super early and found the refrigerator that would work for my new kitchen and cancelled the one I ordered online.
It's a Maytag 21.9-cu.ft. bottom freezer with reversible door. I don't know which way I will prefer opening it since I have two counters that will be accessible. We'll see.
The interior configuration of the shelves is just like my current model and I like the flexibility of changing heights. The freezer has the built in ice maker, essential! and two drawers to get at the contents easily. They come out too.
Finally,  it was on sale, and much less than the French door model. So I am happy.

After Lowe's, I went to my sister's house which took about 20 minutes in Saturday morning traffic. I will love being so much closer at the new house. We went to Costco, which is just over the border in Georgia, where we enjoyed free samples for breakfast and picked up a few necessary items, like wine, and my birthday lamb rib roast (December 28th, I was 66. Let's pretend it never happened).
So now life is back on track, and we are clearing out stuff getting ready for our move, January 28th.
We do everything on the 28's.
And I am back in the studio making this week's quilt.

Happy unbirthday! 66 is a good number. I tried it out a couple years ago. Roast lamb would be a splendiferous meal. Your new fridge looks wonderful. I am just a tad concerned about how you are going to get the X off your roof......................hahahaha

  3. Happy unbirthday Melody!

That is almost the same fridge I have! My Maytwg has one shelf that you can crank to what ever height you want without having to unload it. My girlfriend who used to own an appliance repair business says Maytagw have a great record. Enjoy yours.

  5. Age is simply a state of mind so I'll just say Happy State of Mind.
I've lost track of how many times you cleaned out, re-organized and changed your studio before it became the Studio/Family TV room. Then it got a complete construction make over to become Dave's Master Pad and your studio moved upstairs for more sorting, cleaning out, organizing and hauling stuff up the stairs. Just as it looked like everything was finishing up and you could settle into a routine you decide to sell and move. And you are still pumping out fantastic works of art.

I'm exhausted thinking about all this, I think I need a nap so I can be rested.

Happy Birthday! I have the same fridge and its great EXCEPT that it doesn't keep food in the refrigerator section very cold, even at the coldest setting.

  9. Don't feel bad about becoming 66 on the 28 of Dec. I became 80 on the 27th. I don't like what happens to your mind and body when you get to that age - but what can a person do to stop it?? Don't answer that!! Good luck in your move - I know you are a very organized person, and you will have less troubles than the average person as you go through it. And....you've done it before!! Easy peasy.

  11. Happy belated birthday, and enjoy 66.... I'm a few months ahead of you, and it has been great so far! And best wishes on selling your place... hope you find people who will take care of it, and the fish! BTW, we are getting a new fridge and stove on Thursday, and I can't wait to say goodbye to the antiques we are having hauled off... been wanting new ones for awhile now. Gads! I just realized your move date is next week! Hope it goes smoothly and can't wait to see your new place with you all in it!

  13. New fridge to the New year- what a good purchase! This is really worth being happy and excited about! Good thing you saw this before you were able to buy the other one online. I just hope it has been installed properly, and that you are not having any problems with it as of this moment.
