I am astounded at the work of my Cousin Celeste! This fussy cut hexagon quilt of hers is to die for.
Amazing. I can never imagine making even one block like this, let alone a whole quilt. Gulp. And she is self taught.
Remember the early summer visit when she and I dyed fabric? This is some of what she dyed. Now this I can handle. And you can bet a machine cover will be in my near future. How cute is this? Or how cool is this? Already I am thinking like a lazy girl and wondering if I have a finished quilt that I can adapt into a cover. I'll bet I do. Hmm. Of course finding it when the house is up for grabs is a whole 'nother story.
The main bath floor tile was laid yesterday and the grouting will be done... Friday! In the meantime we can use the shower, but the toilet is on the front porch until after the grouting is done. ( I may sneak in a new toilet for me, before then).
Minor progress is happening in Dave's room. We decided where the doors will be, and how they will open without hitting anything in the room. I've seen some weird remodels on TV where they didn't think this important factor through. The door will be right in front of the toilet, so tuck in your knees if someone opens the door at the wrong time. I bought more tile for the shower, so now it will extend all the way to the ceiling. 9.5'.
Today we are promised that the Jacuzzi room will be demolished...that will be noisy fun.

You, your sister and your cousin too are all so talented! Obviously runs in the family.
ReplyDeleteHey Melody,
ReplyDeleteDid you consider pocket doors? They take up no room when they're open.

That is a gorgeous quilt. I recommend the Toto ADA toilet. Love mine and it low flush too.
ReplyDeleteWow, you guys are crazy busy!
ReplyDeleteTomorrow is the day I get to go see your quilts on exhibit here in Portland. Excited.
Hi Melody. I think your cousin's quilt is a one block wonder. Check out Bruce Seed's quilts all done in this manner. Don't they make fabulous quilts with just one fabric?
ReplyDeleteGreat job and I love the sewing machine cover too.

Don't you just love that naughty pink one that snuck into the machine cover?
ReplyDeleteHi Melody
ReplyDeleteLove love your colours and dyed fabrics. I always enjoy reading your blog. The gorgeous quilt made by your talented niece is called One Block Wonder from the same name book by Maxine Rosenthal - Congratulations to your niece for taking on that challenge.
