Make Me a Quilt : Fernande

Ferns for Fernande
Hand dyed and commercial silks,
fused, machine quilted 17x20" or 43x51cm. since it is going to Luxembourg!

Every silk reflects the light differently. The charmeuse is a kind of satin and is the most reflective, unless you count the very very shiny dupionni. The bit of leaf at the upper right hand in the next picture is that dupionni.

I quilted this differently than I have ever done before. I used a finer poly thread and a finer needle. It worked beautifully. Size 75 and Coats and Clarks trilobal polyester in both the needle and the bobbin, and hot pink color throughout.

Oh Melody, this is breathtaking! As they would say in Georgia where I grew up, it is "simply gorgeous!" I have spent the last quarter-hour drooling over it with my morning cup of tea. Thanks to the double-click feature, I can see it really close up. It must be fabulous "in person".
