Swatch Five

This swatch, for Nancy G, is made with a long spun variegated merino with red wool. It will look quite different when the red in the merino comes along.

In the comments yesterday was this:
For your top, have you thought of Simplicity pattern 2245 It's called Portfolio
You can see a picture on my Pinterest My style board if you keep scrolling down

Lisette Portfolio dress.
I love this mostly (not the drop shoulder) and tried to find this pattern at Joann's and online, but it is discontinued. What I am crazy about are the set in pockets and that little tab at the neckline.
If anyone has this pattern and would like to share...I wear a 14. heh heh.Portfolio dress in linen - Simplicity 2245
Tutorial at http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com/2011/04/portfolio-in-linen-how-to-do-pockets.html
UPDATE I changed my mind about wanting this pattern after seeing it made up on more bodies, thanks to Pinterest. It just isn't me, especially the drop shoulder which looks messy on my bod.

  1. Melody, I goggled "Simplicity 2245" and up came quite a few blogs referring to that pattern. Perhaps they would be willing to share? Or I did see it on an ebay auction ending in 5 days. Just thought I'd pass that along. I know how it is when you have something specific in mind and you have to have it. :-) Love your work, wish I could afford you. Big hug.

Wouldn't be that hard to draft it from an A line dress. Even one with set in sleeves.

  3. You're right, it's the pockets that make it! Possible to draft, if you can be bothered :)

  4. Hi Melody,

Carmen is here from Germany. I saw a similar model in this magazine - "My Image" Spring / Summer 2013
    http://www.imagewearpatterns.com/index.php/de/durchblaettern-mi/mi13s
Model 1313 is available in different sizes.
The lyrics are also here in English.
I hope I could help you?

    Greetings from Germany

The Sky Scarf, almost at the bottom row on the "Pinterest My style board" that were mentioned, is a really fun idea.
