Lines Plus, hand dyed cottons, machine pieced and machine quilted. 48x65"Quilted in straight lines, about 1/2" apart, mostly. I was planning on doing it in sections, quilting as I go, but changed my mind and did it as one piece. I actually went out and bought curved safety pins to baste it. First time I ever used those. They worked just fine. The quilting really condensed the size quite a bit, about 4" in width, but not so much in height.
I have ideas for more pieces with lines. Smaller than this one however!
PS: Several have asked if the skinny lines were fused. Nope. The whole quilt is pieced.
I just love this!!!!
ReplyDeletestunning work.
ReplyDeleteI love this one. It's one of my favorite color combinations.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful piece - the colors are quite different than your ususal palate but it works!! This does remind me of some of Nancy Crow's work. How were the pin stripes done--fused or pieced?
ReplyDeleteI really like this one, Mrs. Mel! Love the color combo and the linear design. Still reminds me of piano keys...
