Lines Plus Quilted

Lines Plus, hand dyed cottons, machine pieced and machine quilted. 48x65"

Quilted in straight lines, about 1/2" apart, mostly. I was planning on doing it in sections, quilting as I go, but changed my mind and did it as one piece. I actually went out and bought curved safety pins to baste it. First time I ever used those. They worked just fine. The quilting really condensed the size quite a bit, about 4" in width, but not so much in height.
I have ideas for more pieces with lines. Smaller than this one however!

PS: Several have asked if the skinny lines were fused. Nope. The whole quilt is pieced.

  2. This is a wonderful piece - the colors are quite different than your ususal palate but it works!! This does remind me of some of Nancy Crow's work. How were the pin stripes done--fused or pieced?

Yes, this does give you tons of time to take off and finish all that you need to be done.

Purchase from local manufacturers if possible; if not, purchase direct from
the manufacturer to ensure the most freshness - all-natural
beauty products don't contain chemical preservatives, so their shelf-life may be shorter than their conventional chemical-filled counterparts. Flaxseed is a good choice. In addition to the honey, the Organic Purifying Masque contains rooibos tea extract, aloe juice, jojoba oil, vitamin E, oat extract, rosemary, and neem oil (don't ask
on that last one; it's a plant, that's all I know.
