Easy Peasy

That's all there is to this surgery. Two little slits where the camera(?) scalpel (?) or whatever goes in and does the deed.
We left our house at 4:30am and were back home by 10:30am. I spent most of the day sleeping off the lingering effects of the anathesia, which is the lovely part of surgery, if you ask me.
I got to sleep downstairs in the luxurious queen sized guest room  bed surrounded by snoring pugs, who kept me warm and comforted.
And I learned how to walk with crutches on my frequent bathroom breaks. No real pain to speak of, and this morning the huge wrappings fell off by themselves, giving me the photo op.
You might think there is a lot of swelling on this ol' knee, but I have really chubby knees, and this one looks the same as the unaffected one.
So now both knees have had the meniscus-ectomy or whatever it is called, and I look forward to being able to stand for hours at my studio worktable and sit with a bent knee soon. No more showing off like a 17 year old. Darn.
I'll be knitting alot in the meantime.
Thank you all for your emails of best wishes, which I sooooo appreciate.
Lovest,

So glad it went well. Now I don't have to be scared it I even need it. I think it's wonderful what they can do laparoscopically (is that a word, if not it should be).

  11. Happy it's over and soon you can get back to life. Makes you appreciate being able to bend your knee doesn't it. Have had this done several times and have a knee replacement now which is great. My soul says I am 9, my body says no way. Love your vibrant colorful quilts. Now go take a nap.

I had the same surgery two years ago when I snapped a tendon. In my case, the doc stuck a camera in my knee to have a good look around, and I am now the proud owner of a DVD showing me the (gross but fascinating) inside my knee.

Funny thing... People will watch the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but freak out at the idea of seeing someone else's knee from the inside! lol
