View Along Rt. 111

View Along Rt.111
Oil on gallery wrapped canvas, 12x12" SOLD

OK I am getting what I want now. What a relief! I thought about this during the night and figured out it wasn't getting looser that was a priority but letting go of ditsy details that I was after. That and more color than natural. Plus working on a stretched canvas makes a lot of difference, in terms of how the paint works. My previous tries were on a very fine toothed canvas, resulting in the ability to have more details, which I couldn't resist.
O nevermind.
This is what I was trying to do, and now I think I can make larger and larger works. Phew!

  10. Melody You are a 'Fauvist' at heart - Look at the works and colours of Derain and Vlaminck and really let fly with your extraordinary sense of colour - it's all there in your head. Thanks for a couple of years of pleasure your blogsite has given me.
