The Big Reveal
Today when I went into my studio to work on my quilt, the curtain fabric demanded my attention. So shifting gears, I started sewing, and then hanging them, and thus endeth the new living room design. Then I hung paintings and quilts and found aqua accessories. Turns out we had lots of stuff with turquoise, orange, yellow, red and pink.
It may be time to finally put that ladder away.
This polymer clay teapot and the tiny clay bird made by my sister Brooke add just the right touch of color to the mantel.
On the sofa, the dog's favorite squeaky toy in basic black coordinates with the stereo speakers. Ha!
It was a total accidental miracle that these all hung with equal spacing or equal height. I could never do this again.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning. I love all the color. Your sister's teapot is also fantastic, are all of the art in the room.
ReplyDeleteMy sister made the bird not the teapot. Sorry for the confusion.
ReplyDeleteIt looks terrific and very inviting. You and Dave do really nice work!
ReplyDeleteI love it! So clean and crisp. It must be wonderful to walk into a room that can take your mind off of the cold winter outside.
ReplyDeleteThe curtains are beautiful and your quilt art looks perfect on the wall!
ReplyDeleteHouse Beautiful should be calling any minute.
ReplyDeleteIt's so fab! I'm striving to have art the highlight in my house, too, and for the last few days I've been thinking it's time to pull out your directions and dig into my stash (and perhaps buy some more fabric) and try some fusing!!!! Your colors just make me feel so happy!
ReplyDeleteLast night when I was out I pulled out a magazine that has a great rug...yellows, golds, green, a little red, etc. to show to a friend. She said "It's certainly not my taste! Do you really like all that color"? Lol!
Love it! The room looks so cheerful!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! Beautiful transformation!! I like it much better than the orange (sorry). I love the wall color and the white furniture with it. Could be in a magazine :)
ReplyDeleteTurned out fantastic Melody! A really lovely room.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I'm thinking I might need you to come and decorate my living room now :)
ReplyDeleteSo fun! So fresh! So...not wintry. LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteIs there any lighting in the room, other than the two ceiling fixtures? My dh dislikes overhead lights, and I struggle with lighting design.
Lovely!
ReplyDeleteMelody, you amaze me at how productive you are and what you can turn out in one day. I love your new look and the curtains are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh! Lovely! And that you hads lots of accessories in the right colors was a surprise?? I think not! ;-) Now Dave has a wonderful space to watch the big game tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I didn't think I'd like the new as much as I liked the old but you proved me wrong!
ReplyDeleteI love your new room! Brooke's teapot and bird are amazing! I love them both. I hope you are putting your feet up and relaxing with some knitting.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful, your eye for colour is just wonderful.
ReplyDeleteBut could we maybe have a photo of Chumley in situ to make sure he fits the colour scheme?!
Love the new "look".
ReplyDeleteWow! Your room is just beautiful! and the teapot, i love it. It would take me a couple of weeks just to do the curtains. You're amazing.
ReplyDeleteMy, my, my, this is my favorite, BY FAR! I love the colors! It looks so inviting and relaxing and comfy. Would you and Dave like to come for a visit in Florida? I could use some design help and a handy painting helper. You can bring the Chumster!
ReplyDeleteIt looks just beautiful, and I love the aqua walls as the backdrop for so much color. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSo welcoming!
