Declaration: Winter is Kaput

As though I had the power to declare it...I know there will be more cold and icky days before Spring is officially here, but still, it was in the 70's yesterday and the air was full of bird songs and signs of new life were everywhere. My daffodils and hyacinths are up and ready for action. And the bleeding hearts are visible in their shady box. I checked last year's blog entries for March and by the end of the month we will have full blooms on the bleeding hearts. Yay! The peonies look enthusiastic too, and hopefully will be more vigorous than ever this year. O how I love a peony bush.

And not to be left out, the goldfish are ABUNDANT  and showy and are proud parents of gobs of babies.

Try as they might, the babies refuse to be corralled.
Here you can see the change they make as they mature. Starting out black, the orange fades in as the black disappears. We do have one white goldie. She is Ms. White...not pictured yet, but that is my goal. Dave did get to see her yesterday as he took a break from mulch spreading. We have one mulchy yard.

Ring around the Rosy, fishy style.

  2. Glad the weather is getting warmed. We returned home a few days ago from a trip to SC, Georgia and Florida, we froze the whole time. The flowers in your room do look Spingy.

Der Winter ist hier noch nicht 'kaputt', immer noch sehr präsent!
    Aber, heute schien die Sonne.

Transl. The winter is not kaputt here, it is still very present! But, the sun shone today!

    LOL........I am off to bed...
