Dead Plant Society

Today I am going to meet the women of the Dead Plant Society. We will be drawing. I used to draw as artwork, but these days I just draw as a means of getting the ideas out of my brain so I can turn them into quilts.

Drawing for real…drawing for art’s sake is a whole ‘nother thing. I can’t wait to see what will go on with this group and if we really are going to be drawing plants…or what?

I have been asked to bring show and tell, some quilts and artwork. Being last minute Mel, I must dig out something appropriate right now.

  1. Have a wonderful morning. Last minute Mel is so much more interesting than the plan ahead Polly Perfect!

  2. Great drawings. Love the trees in the rolling landscape. Hope that comes to life in the future.

At first I thought that the "Dead Plants Society" meant that you were going to tell us that all the plants you had planted had died, or been eaten by the deer, etc. etc. I am SO RELIEVED! I, too, am trying to get back into drawing and painting. I have been too busy feeding my husband for too many years - now I am devoting some time to my own interests.

  4. I wish I'd been bitten by the "drawing bug" as I have no ability to express myself in that area. I love to look at your sketches and I actually recognize two of your quilts in those first two sketches. Have a great time!

  6. I am a charter member of the Dead Plant Society, literaly. I have to apologize to every plant I bring into the house. Not so with fabric, thank goodness.
