Boo Hoo

We knew it was coming, and we did take precautions to cover most of our plants, but there is only so much one can do.

Plastic and boxes for support are covered in snow. What a mess.

Our Bleeding Heart is not looking so good this morning.

And the snow continues today. Big fat flakes. But by Wednesday it is supposed to be in the 50’s again. We’ll see what’s left standing after this melts.

  2. You don't have as much as we do. I live in western PA, near Lake Erie so we get a lot of lake effect snow. We're in the "snow belt"!! Our daffodils are drooping and I have sunflowers that I started from seeds ready to be planted. Yes, I hope this weekend will be warmer. We've had over 100 inches of snow this winter and everyone here is ready for spring!

  3. I thought of you when I heard the forecast for snow in Tennessee. I hope your plants recover! We have a minor cold spell up here in Maryland, but I think our snow worries are behind us. Good luck! :-)

  4. Don't worry, most plants will resist. We have sometimes snow in April also here in Romania, with all flowers in bloom, but there is not so much damage.

  5. So sorry about your plants! We had a minor freeze last night--the latest I can remember. The rule of thumb around here is not to plant until the end of March, because we're typically free of freezes after that. Not this year!

  6. So sorry about your plants! This weather is so awful this year, everywhere it seems. However yesterday, for the first time in 188 days in the Seattle area, we had a temperature above 60 degrees and clear blue skies with sunshine! But I do feel for you as it seemed that Spring had sprung in your neck of the woods...

  7. What a difference a day makes!! Reminds me how grateful I am to have left New Jersey -- weather.com says 90 here in Tucson today (NOT to rub it in)!

  9. Isn't this late winter awful? We will be below freezing tonight in So AL. Today we had wind of up to 30mph: really hard to take the dogs out. LOL
