Christmas in the Country
Hand dyed cottons, silk and commercial cottons, fused, machine and hand quilted. 10x13"
We have been so busy decorating that I almost forgot what time of year this is. After my short trip into town yesterday I came home with the holiday spirit and made this quilt. Lots of the homes on our road are decked out with lights and the animals are happy to still be out grazing in this warm temperature.
Yes. 60 degrees at 9am. No wonder I almost missed the Christmas season!
My trip to the doctor was great, since I found out that I don't have anything seriously wrong with my knee, and a knee brace and a double dose of ibuprofen every four hours has done the job. No pain this morning. Woowoo! That means
COOKIE BAKING TODAY!
This recipe reminds you to get the vanilla wafers early, but then forgets to add them to the mix.
I made these already this year and they were the first to disappear. Hmm.
I made biscotti last year for the first time and they are a lot of work, but it is a special treat and worth the effort. The recipe makes a huge amount and they last in a tin for a long time. Great with a hot cup of coffee anytime of day. The other two recipes are a snap, but as long as the kitchen is up for grabs, I might as well make more cookies.
Wow! You were in the right brain at the right moment and out popped this wonderful quilt! So cute and cozy!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt and I think I am moving to Tennessee!

I looked through my recipes for a biscotti recipe and couldn't find one with almonds...you must've been reading my mind. Thanks for the recipe!
ReplyDeleteI love that little quilt!

ReplyDeleteWill you be making tamales this year? I know that's what I want for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI too have been in cookie baking mode these last few days but I didn't pause to make any adorable quilts. Fabulous!
