I felt the earth move...
It was 4:30 am and I was dreaming something stupid when I felt Popeye jump onto the bed. Only it wasn't Popeye. And the bed kept moving. I woke up slightly more and realized that my bed was wiggling and I listened for thunder. I don't know why, except I was groggy.
It was a trembler.
I crawled out of bed and went to see if Dave was awake to see if he felt it. Nope. So I went back to sleep.
Later I found out the center was in Southern Illinois! That's a long way from here. I was amazed to feel it this far away.
We are going to a new neurologist today in McMinnville, which just happens to be where Mary's Greenhouse is located, just down the road from the doctor's. Woowoo! I have my list ready.
So I printed out the directions on Google Maps.
Have you ever found your house on Google? I mean looked at it from the satellite photos? It is amazing how close you can get if you keep clicking the plus sign. My old house in Cary is on Main Street and is squished between all the other houses. My house in Palmer sits all by itself, surrounded by trees and across the street from a defunct chicken barn.
No wonder I feel so free to walk around outdoors in my pajamas.

  1. It was officially 4:37 a.m. and it was a 5.2 or 5.3 depending on which station you listen to. It woke me up, too. The house was shaking and there was a definite rumbling sound. We both felt it and we are at least 8 to 9 hours apart!

It woke us up in Chicago, also.

Living in California I have lots of these in my history....
    Those are actually called "Temblors"
although they can indeed, make you tremble. :-)

A few minutes ago, we had a little aftershock. 11:15 EDT in Indy area. I slept through the initial temblor (lovely word), so the aftershock must've been for us sleepyheads.

Can't wait to see pictures of the 'new babies' brought home from the garden center!

It certainly woke us up here in Southern Illinois. The aftershock at 10:15 this morning was even more disconcerting, since we were fully awake!

When I lived in Alabama, I found my house on Google Maps, and was shocked to learn how many of my neighbors had pools. Well-guarded secrets....
