The Crack of Dawn Departure
It didn't take us very long to travel from Columbus IN to the first rest stop in Kentucky. I forgot my fave pillow (again) at the hotel because Mr. Got Up Early-Ready to Go was making me rush. He promises to buy me a new one. OK I guess I will be good with that.
It was a spectacular morning, if a bit crisp temperature-wise. But we saw lots of redbud and dogwood in bloom. And real leaves on the trees. The roads were not congested even tho it was morning rush hour in Louisville.
We are now in Cleveland TN a Chattanooga suburb. We had a bad dinner at a Mexican restaurant and now will try to stay awake through Dancing with the Stars. We got a call from our home realtor and they showed the house this afternoon and again this evening. Picking up! Tomorrow we will start in on the (reduced to ) 21 houses on my list. woowoo!
PS:It is GORGEOUS here. The mountains are lush and the views KILL.
Wait till ya get to Nashville - they have a Batman building too! It's so exciting looking for a new home town! Best of luck to you!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure that is Nashville :) And it's Bellsouth, but everyone does call it the Batman Building :)
ReplyDeleteI love road trips and I love hearing about yours...good luck house hunting...you will know it when you see it....my best to you both...as always....
ReplyDeleteHere's me waving to you across the river from Hixson!!!
ReplyDeleteHi from Chattanooga. Cleveland (TN) isn't known for fine dining--there are PLENTY of good mexican restaurants here! Glad you are enjoying our beautiful views! All of east Tennessee is just as pretty!
ReplyDeletePS: Can't wait to hear about the Chatt. houses you see!
ReplyDeleteAlways put a VERY VERY bright pillowcase on your pillow so you don't leave it.
ReplyDeleteDon't ask how I know!
Bright for you might even have to be neon!
I am SUCH AN IDIOT! Of course that was Nashville and not Louisville.
ReplyDeleteAnd my pillowcase was FUCHSIA and I still left it in the hotel. I said to Dave, I mustn't forget my pillow, and then walked out without it.
Now I am sleeping on rocks, which match what is in my head.
I can sympathize with you over the pillow. I always take my own!
ReplyDeleteMake Dave take you to the W store to buy your new pillow and then he will not let you forget again.
ReplyDeleteAnd BTW, are you guys sleeping at all? You are getting up sooooo early to blog. Love it! I don't have to wait until 7pm my time. Wheee!
Could be you just had a bad one-time experience at the Mex restaurant....right?
The Batman building!
ReplyDeleteI miss living in Tennessee and passing Bell South everyday.
Thanks for posting a bit of home!
