file under: What was I thinking?
Ah yes Dear Reader, there was a time when I wasn't the glamorous rock star quilter that I am today. Wide Load comes to mind. Here I am posing in our vendor booth at Paducah in 1995 with Keiko Goke and Laura Wasilowski (the cutie pie, even then).
This goes to show that youth is definitely wasted on the young. We BOTH wore these tie-dyed t-shirts, with ARTFABRIK emblasoned on the bosom and actually sold them to others!
I look back in horror that I actually left the house looking like that and expected anyone to venture into our booth and make a purchase. Yet they did, and you know who you are.
In those days I bragged that I cut my own hair, and made my own clothes. Note the lovely bob I am sporting. And the coordinating knees.
As I look at the quilts hanging in our booth, I wonder if the word RESTRAINT had yet found its way into my consciousness? Apparently not.
O the humanity.
What year was that ... do you remember? You are all cutie pies.
ReplyDeleteOh the humanity! You are a riot!
ReplyDeleteOh My God!!!! What a picture - I recognize Laura, but the one in the middle. You have certainly changed - for the better!!!
ReplyDeleteLook at all those ribbons on your chest. You and Keiko were major winners that year. And I think I still have that shirt! I must clean out my closet.
ReplyDeleteAhh Melody, you are too hard on yourself. You always were and still are --beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAn avid reader and fan, but blogless

You have evolved! That photo is hysterical!
ReplyDeleteTake heart. If we weren't there then, we wouldn't be where we are now.
ReplyDeleteBack then I thought you guys rocked. Still do.
Well, it is very hard to be glamorous while wearing anything tie-dyed. :~)
ReplyDeleteNever mind the tie-dye, look at those smiles! A good show and best friends, that's what I see.
ReplyDeleteOh Mel, thanks for a delightful blast from the past!!
