I finally got Photoshop! Actually it is only Photoshop Elements 4.0, but that is enough for me at the moment. I am so excited that I can now crop out my backgrounds and add a drop shadow to my quilts! This is the first step to making a photo book of my quilts.
Fellow blogger Cindra Tison suggested that I order this program and I obediently complied. Then Frieda Anderson suggested that I get a Dummy book on the program from the library. I have one on reserve and am awaiting the call that it is available.
In the meantime I dinkin' around and feeling like such a smartie!

  1. See, everyone is in such a hurry to see your blog, that they can't wait until it is finished ! I have been sleeping in lately; love the cool nights. Anyway, I got off the subject there for a second.
I have Adobe PhotoDeluxe Home Edition and it is much simplier than Adobe PhotoShop. I refuse to read manuals and that's why I don't have a VCR or a DVD in my studio !!

  3. Congrats on Photoshop...is is amazing. BTW -- check out Ofoto, Kodak's version of shutterfly. I just did a family facation book thru them and have seen various others of friends' books. And they were beautiful. And then add the drop shadow for you.

  4. Looks like you are doing a great job on your own. I have full blown Photoshop and don't really know what I am doing most of the time. A how to book? HMMM - maybe I should try that!

  5. I reckon Photoshop Elements is all that you will ever need. Even this lite version is too powerful for its own good sometime but reading a manual or guide always helps tame the beast!

  6. Of course, any time Terry takes pictures of my quilts, he has to put them through photoshop, which makes just beautiful pix, but is so stinking complicated (for me). I know you will enjoy the effects, tho.

  7. Check out lynda.com - they have GREAT online video's that you can access on an unlimited monthly basis. Its like sitting next to a great teacher and having private lessons - and the cost is less than what a single book would cost!

Last week I fired our typesetter and not only learned Quark but I was able to start and finish a project for our client that the ex-typestter was making a mess of!

Can't wait to see what you do with PE have fun!
