My Excellent Adventure

Unable to resist the lure of the bubbling hot tub

or the totally empty pool,

I decided to venture out for a look see, hoping to find a store that might carry bathing suits for women of a certain age...
I grabbed my sunglassses, and my water bottle and camera, of course and walked briskly down the pink gravel path.

Along the way I met a tall cactus

a frightening dinosaur,

and bad southwestern art.

I crossed a bridge over a dry river

and lo and behold found Shopping Nirvana!
Surely this place would provide a tasteful and sensible suit for me.

After five forays into the dressing room I found this sports bra and shorts complete with velcro and zippered pockets. Perfect to keep my room key in.

And a nice pair of walking shorts, a good book, spf 45 sunblock, dryer sheets for cleaning irons later this week, some Dawn for washing out my unmentionables, and hangers to dry them on.

I had to buy a porcelain mug and glass for my wine, since I am a princess and cannot bear drinking beverages from flimsy plastic cups.

I admit I was tempted on my way home to stop and get one of these. I inquired about the price and size and thought better of it. Nope, I should just have a nice apple for lunch, by the pool.

Back at the hotel, I changed into my new swim suit, and put my room card in my pocket with the velcro closure and slipped into the waiting pool. It was delightful, almost bathlike. I swam around and did a few acrobatic moves just to test my abilities and then climbed out to get a towel.
I noticed that my key card was gone from my pocket!!
A quick perusal and it was spotted at the bottom of the deepest part of the pool. I took a deep breath, and tried to dive for it. Nope. Then I tried again. Still not deep enough to reach it. I swam to the side and rested for a second. Then I drew in a huge breath and went down for the third time. Voila! Success. That was a good feeling.
I grabbed a towel and my glasses and sat under the umbrella and read my book, eating my apple for lunch. Perfect.

OOOOOOO what fun. I love heading out to survey the area when we go places and of course finding new ways to sharpen my credit cards. Your willpower is better than mine-I would have stopped for the chocolate coolata and anything else yummy and cool. Of course that's why you can fit into the baithing suit and I....probably can't. That's a great book by my fav mystery writer...enjoy.
