A Taste of Paradise

Dateline: Poway CA
Birds of Paradise outside my front door.

I am so happy to report that my second day with Bad Wonder-Under went much much better. We never blew a circuit with the irons, and one gal had an old GOOD bolt of W-U and we took advantage of her generosity and got right to the fun stuff. Fun Stuff took over and the day turned out to the MOST wonderful day I have had teaching in a long time.
At lunchtime I had the opportunity to visit and fondle at The Yarn Lady shop nearby and while I was Wowed and Amazed, I managed to slip out without succumbing. I wanted a specific sock yarn which was not available, so...phew! But it was a close call. If you have a chance to visit that store, bring bushels of money, and leave with bushels of yarn.

When the class ended and we all promised to love each other eternally, I was picked up by Sue Mezera and her lovely daughter Laura to move on to the next part of this trip, Friendship Quilters in San Diego.

This is MY HOUSE. Their guest house/quilt studio which I have to myself until Wednesday, when I will be dragged kicking and screaming to the airport.

The view at 6am as the sun just hits the tops of the distant hills. The pool is covered because it is 'cold' here. Like only 70 maybe. Hahahaha I am dying laffing!

I will have an opportunity to try this hot tub tonight... this means a bathing suit! No pictures please.

  1. Oh poor you! Stuck in such an ugly place for a few days..not! I bet the hot tub was good after a hard day teaching.

I forgot how fantastic a blooming bird of paradise can be. Seems to be your kind of colorway =-)

Sorry you have to suffer in California whilst we have a blizzard on the East Coast.

  3. Bird of Paradise were my favorite flowers growing up. I'd get my granddad to buy me just one. Cool guest house!
