I have been dieting since Sept.25 and I am 1.6 pounds away from losing 25 pounds. I know it will come off, but it may be delayed by Christmas eating. Nevertheless, I am feeling like this may be nearly my goal weight. I say this, knowing I will be staying on this Thoughtful Eating diet For. Ever. with the hoped for addition of wine, soon. ha!
You know one should not buy new clothes when one is dieting, but a trip to Goodwill resulted in some great bargains and a wonderful surprise pair of jeans. Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans, midnight blue, in 12P are the best fitting jeans ever for my shape, and I got my first pair, there at Goodwill, for $3.49. Gulp!
I also scored two great shirts, practically brand new, and also great fits.
So whilst shopping at Kohl's (the sale for folks over 65...um, that's me) I saw that they carried the same jeans! O boy! But only one pair in my size was available (teal). When I got home I looked online and lo and behold there they were on the Kohl's site. Regularly $34.99 (probably not ever sold at that price. You know retail tricks.) and on sale for $19.99 + free shipping. Of course I went nuts and got a pair in black, raspberry, lime and purple. Woowoo! Of course I had jeans in my closet already, so now the wretched excess totals 11 pairs, in various sizes. But to feel so comfortable in my clothes is the real discovery.
And now to cook some big holiday meals...tamales and Angus beef rib roast, not on the same menu. For the first year in so many, I am not making goodies. I'll buy some for Dave, but none for me.
I can stand it. Just looking in the mirror and my resolve is solid.
