Sharing the Fun

Back in August when I started the collaborations with you, Dear Readers, HollyM left a comment:

I would love to be able to afford one! It's a great idea!
Well, little did she know that another Dear Reader took it upon herself to commission a small quilt as an anonymous surprise gift to HollyM. That reader also reads Holly's blog and wanted to share the fun with her. Since HollyM is a nature lover, I took that idea and made this little pine tree quilt for her.

Under a Polka Dot Sky
Hand dyed cottons and silk, hand embroidered and machine quilted. Fused.
7x9"

I'll be sending off Holly's quilt in the mail to New Brunswick, Canada tomorrow, and maybe it will reach her before the holidays. Fingers crossed.

On the home front, the weather is so nasty that the dawgs refuse to leave the house, and have to be content looking out the window. They bark at every falling leaf or truck that goes by. I pray for sun.

  1. I am floored and in tears as I type this! I cannot believe someone would do such a thing! I guess I'm really going to have to watch my comments!
I am just so thrilled and honoured to receive a piece of your work.
I will be forwarding the joy in some way.

  2. I'm so happy for my friend, Holly. She's a lovely person, very creative artist, and prolific blogger. It's always a pleasure to see what's going on in her life. She so deserves this, and it's such a wonderful surprise that someone has very generously given her.

  8. P.S. Love the Pug Butts. My Shar Pei hates the snow & cold we are having and the old Artic Beagle is loving it - go figure.
