Make Me a Quilt : Melissa

Day Into Night
Hand dyed and commercial cottons
Fused, machine quilted.
23.5" x 17.25"
Dot details represent the sun as it moves across the mountains.

Melissa lives in Sedona AZ, which led me to make color choices based on the place. I have actually been there and seen the landscape and it is amazing. Luckily I had just the right fabrics to make this desert come alive.

Oh Melody! The quilt is absolutely stunning! I love it! You have beautifully captured the colors and the ambiance of the red rocks and the subtle greens of the vegetation. I'm looking at it for the first time now at a little after 4:20pm, and the day is indeed beginning the transition into night. Perfect synchronicity, perfect quilt. Happy dance here ...
