The Finished Quilt

I am so glad that I added that extra three inches all around, as it tucks in at the foot and reaches the headboard just right. One usually thinks of a queen size quilt as much larger, but with a four-poster like this the extra width and length of a regular sized queen quilt  gets all bunched up at the posts, making bed look unkempt and awkward. I hate an awkward bed, don't you? I'm not planning on using this until I take it to our next Modern Quilt guild meeting April 9th. Must keep it dawg hair free.

Speaking of the dawgs, I was sweeping up the tumbleweeds of dawginess today and had this conversation with Dave:
me: The thing about the pug's dog hair is that it clumps. Not like cat hair which flies all over the place when you try and sweep it up. I can make a nice pile of the hair and get it all up and into the garbage as a piece.
Dave: And to think I was worried about running out of things to talk about...

Your quilt is fab, and I love that coleus print in the border. Now I have an idea how to use some of that same fabric to showcase its beauty. Thanks for the inspiration...again.

Melody I just love your 'light/bright' color combos, they are so uplifting. It's made me pause to consider why I've not been too inspired lately with my stash--I need to bump things up in the color department! (I've been working on quilts for family members that only want 'traditional' color schemes. Ha, the phrase working on in that sentence is a big reveal to how it's been feeling!) Thanks again for your inspiration.
