Cogs

Cogs
acrylic and ink on museum matte board, digitally framed, 8x10" $100 Email me.

I'm starting to get the courage to put paint on the surface, brush it around and make shapes until something happens. No planning involved, which means letting go of being in control of the outcome.
It is as much a surprise to me as you when I see that I have made something like this. Where does it come from?

This is so different than the previous four pieces. And yesterday I tried to do a planned work and it was just awful so it will get painted over, back to white.

I am using this new pen, which I found online after searching everywhere locally that sells Uniball pens. It is super white and opaque and makes wonderful smooth lines. The best I've ever used. I am also using dip pens with Dr. Martin's waterproof ink, also great, just not the old bottle of white I have. The gel pen is not waterproof.

This definitely has a calligraphic look. What if you tried writing or scribbling on top? Maybe scribble to music? Or not.
    You'll find a way...

  2. I'm loving what you're doing! You have a magic place for sure! And thanks for the link for the gel pen. I did pick up a few white ink pens at my local art supply store, but so far I'm not impressed with them. Great stuff you're doing here!
