Yesterday I did a marathon dowload of tunes to my mp3 player from Legal Sounds.com which was having a 7 cent sale, per song. I found a couple of songs I wanted....123 actually and one that I had been seeking forever. It is the background music to the Subaru Forester tv commercial, with the little boy hockey players. The song is If I should fall from grace with God by the Pogues.
I downloaded some moldy oldies, from compilation albums and last night we played "Who did this song?" and Dave was amazingly fast at naming the song after only a few introductory notes. There were a few irresistible songs that made us get up and dance. We did a slow cheek to cheek to You've Lost that Lovin' Feeling by the Righteous Brothers, and we did the Stroll (remember the Stroll?) to Sea of Love by Phil Phillips and the Twilights, and then went nuts with Mony Mony by Tommy James and the Shondells. We both worked up a sweat with Solomon Burke's Everybody Needs Somebody to Love, which was later remade by the Blues Brothers, so we did the Jake and Elwood Blues hop. So many memories. Are we old farts or what?
That's awesome! I can just imagine you two sweatin' to the oldies! What fun! Did the dawgs dance too?

ReplyDeleteJust came home from a Bruce Springsteen concert myself last night. My niece say, "Isn't he an old guy?" hrrmph! I didn't realize how big Chumley is!! Such a cutie but I don't think I could be as accommodating as Dave!
