Closet Discoveries

I spent the day Wednesday cleaning out and rearranging my clothes from one closet to another, and ended up having two closets. I don't know that it made much sense, but on the other hand I have a better idea of what is where now. Not all the Rubbermaids made it out to the garage. I need to keep some things close at hand. Of course I found stuff I had forgotten I had...like a box of undyed silk fabric and tons of undyed sock yarns.

These hand stitched pins were in my junk box. They are ooooold! I made them from my hand dyed silks, and some are stitched with my hand dyed silk threads. I added beads, sisha mirrors and padding underneath, with ultrasuede on the backs. Does anyone wear pins anymore? A couple of them are from my days teaching machine embroidery. Like the 90's. (SOLD!)

Last night our water pump caught on fire. (it's outside on the far side of the driveway, don't worry.) We didn't know it til this morning, so we'll be waiting all day for the repairs to be made. I guess that means the laundry is on hold.

  1. Good morning Melody. When I saw your pins, they made me think of small art works. Perhaps they could be mounted on small backgrounds and sold as art. They are beautiful!

  2. I have one of those pins! Vintage mid 1990s. I still love to look at it although I don't wear it very often. It is great to see more of them, and they are little pieces of art.

water pump fire? isn't that what you call an oxymoron?

  4. Yes, I thought the same thing about the pins--small works of art. I don't wear pins, but I have a Christmas tree quilt that my BF made for me, and I put all my pins on there like they are the ornaments.

And water pump fire? That is concerning, since my water pump is right outside my bedroom!

  5. Love the pins.

That's scary about the fire. I hope they find the root cause for what started it. I am a bit paranoid about fire now, as my next door neighbor's house burned down this past Christmas day.

  11. The pins are gorgeous! I'm not normally a pin person, but I would find a lapel if I had something like them to show off!
Glad you weren't hurt by the water pump fire... I do hope you find the cause so it can be avoided in the future!

Hi! Do you know if they make any plugins to assist with Search Engine Optimization?
I'm trying to get my blog to rank for some targeted keywords but I'm not seeing very good gains.
If you know of any please share. Kudos!
