Swinging By

My friend Tommy and her dh G and dawg Bella came for a visit on their way to Florida on Sunday. Did I take her picture while she was here? Duh, nope. So I swiped this one from her blog.

We ate and laffed and did the house tour, and tried to get the three dawgs to stop barking. All the noise! It was just like old times, only without the wine. because they were driving, of course.
I insisted that Tommy bring her newest quilt top in from the car.
Here it is on my design wall.

Each one of these blocks is a quilt in itself and so inspiring. Pieced, and some parts are pieced stripes. You know how I love stripes. O my, yes.

It kinda gets my juices flowing to do some small works. Can you see these in sets on a wall? I sure can.

The husbands got along swimmingly and if it hadn't been such a rainy miserable day, we might have let the dawgs run out some of their excitement.

By the end of the visit, Tommy and I were on the couch looking at Pinterest, like a couple of nerds, which we are.
She thanked me for inviting her to stop by and duh again, I asked, "you mean you came because I invited you?" Yup.
Why didn't I think of that before?
Well, that makes me think of inviting lots more people to pop in. Dawgs and all.

  2. Sounds like a great time for all! I love that quilt top and it gives me so much to think about. In the past when I have had a few minutes at the end of the day I have pulled out scraps and just started sewing. This would be a great way to showcase those "little quilts".

  3. Isn't it fun to have a visit form a fellow quilter! I love her pieces too and yes they would be perfect in a grouping.

  4. Nothing better than to have a visit from someone who likes the same things. I'm always disappointed when someone comes to visit me and never even looks at all the things I have made that are all over the place. Are they blind? Nancy

  5. Cool quilt - you took pictures of the quilt, but not your friend? Next time have friend stand beside quilt. Ok, that's probably enough photography advice for now. I do love the "scarf" on her blog picture. Lois
