November Roses

Although the rest of the garden looks like an overgrown jungle, which it is, the roses are continuing to have summer, all on their own.

The red ones are Knockout Doubles and the yellow is Julia Child, which I bought just for the name.  I pay absolutely no attention to them and shame on me, I should since they both could use some deadheading and some rose food. O well, next year.
The green field across the road showed signs of frost last week but nothing of it hit our plantings.

The ground everywhere is covered with fallen leaves. Our vistas have opened up and we can see our neighbor's house to the east. This house belongs to Matt, son of our neighbor to the west. He still hasn't quite finished building it, as he has had some water problems in his lower level, which discouraged him for a time. It looks as tho it is a straight walk to his place, but what you can't see is a deep ravine which is impassable.
Chesty is playing Rin Tin Tin up the hill. The dawgs love the crinkly leaves.

  2. I'm always amazed that roses still bloom down here in Nov. Yours are beautiful.
BTW I just finished my first lace shawl-so proud! I took a online class with Laura Nelkin at Craftsy.com.

  5. Beautiful fall color and your roses are wonderful even in fall. Mine are actually doing pretty good even with a few lighter frosts.

Those pups are too funny. Wonder if anyone wondered what you meant by Rin Tin Tin??? :)

Playing Rin Tin Tin.... you are a hoot....and that describes the picture to a T. Roses that one does not pay too much attention to are the best. Fall in your neck of the woods is GREAT...
