Working Weekend
I started out nice and organized, but then it all went kaffluey. My scrap boxes are overflowing again, and I decided I could use small pieces to build my design. Sorting out the specific colors, i.e. yellow, I built strips and while they look neat here, it is this sort of thing that makes the mess above.
I'm using both silks and cottons, and taking my sweet time, working a few hours and then taking a break to have lunch and a nap. It is going along briskly anyway, but I feel that not rushing it has made a big difference in the design. After taking a week or more to make each of the pieced quilts this summer, I don't feel as compelled to increase my speed with this fused work. I'm only showing details today, as I don't want to ruin the ta-da! moment.
Hurrying just doesn't seem necessary.

My studio looks like that right now too - which I'm going to have to make right over the next couple of days because new flooring is going in over the weekend.
