I Chose. . .

 Big Stretch!
While it's not a big stretch for me to work in strips, it kinda is since these are sewn, not fused. I made all the strip sets first (boring) and then started putting them together, trying to follow the pattern in the quilt above. I got lost so quickly that I gave up and just let things happen. That's when the fun started.

So far the length is right at 6 feet but the width is way too narrow at 24" to call it done. I will make more strip sets and add to the width. I am really liking this because it is so instant. And all my colors!

  4. Thanks for the inspiration! I've been in a creative funk (the rain, the clouds), but I think I'll just jump into a free-form strip project and hope for the best.

  5. I think I'm lost.
What are you going to do with this six foot long beauty?

  6. Well, I love what happened. Love the colors. So what function will this quilt provide after it is wider? Bet it would make a great throw to curl up under on a rainy day with a fire going.

This one may just be motivation for me to finally make a larger quilt. Could also use the same technique to make a duvet cover for my feather throw.

Much food for thought on this one.

Ooh! I'm working on stripes this week too - but going in different direction than you. it'll be cool to see where we both wind up in the end (though your end, will, I suspect be much sooner than mine.)

    Beautiful so far!

  9. It's looking wonderful. Funny how things just seem to flow when you just sort of let things happen. I love it!!!

  10. Love the project and the colours :-) Maybe something like that quilt would be good for my NZ quilt... hmmm.
I need to edit the pics of my first ever fusing and post them. OK, it looks like an 8 yo drew it but heh, my first fusing!

  11. Wowee! I didn't realize it was so big, thought it was little strips. So I'm really liking where this is going.

  12. Wonderful! maybe I'll be brave enough to cut into all my hand dyed fabric! It's that first cut that's the killer!

  16. I love your loft bed with lovely, happy colors combinations. I especially like your headboard and wonder if you have written instructions on how you make it. I need to make two or three and wondered if you attach yours directly to the wall?
By the way, nice banner, fun blog.
