I am going nutso waiting.
But a big discovery has occurred. If I can't be in there working, I do housework. And my house stays clean. This can't be good for the psyche.
I have been knitting because it can be picked up or put down without having to put it away. But my heart is not in it.
Gardening is keeping me busy for another hour of the day, and I have also figured out something there. I need to rearrange everything. I can't get at the weeds. These are thoughts I wouldn't be having if I were working in the studio. One just can't rearrange plants like one does furniture. And it is the furniture sitting in the middle of the studio that I REALLY want to be rearranging, back into its proper place.
I was so frustrated I actually vacuumed, again.
How are your fleas? I have to reBorax a few times, if there are lots of them. Just use the turkey baster, which tickles my funnybone anyway.
ReplyDeletePatience....and a clean house, and creativity- just dont go hand in hand do they.... :)
ReplyDeleteHope it happens soon.

Melody - there is help for this dire situation - just take a cold drink and a good book outside to a shady spot with a great view and refuse to leave until all is finished.
ReplyDeleteHugs - Marie
Hey Mrs Mel - how about a sketchbook, colored pencils/markers to go along with that cold drink and shady spot in the yard??? It's better than housework/weeding any day of the week! Hope they finish today.
ReplyDeleteIs someone plotting against you? Do they want you cleaning? Is there treachery afoot? I know patience is a virtue, but we are talking about your studio. Hope it is done soon!
ReplyDeletetry sketching. I find this relaxes me and I feel like I'm getting something creative done. Or just say screw it and read a book.
ReplyDeleteor you could time travel to Canada and take your cleaning frustrations out on my apt! It could sure use the help (VBG).
ReplyDeleteActually I'm with the others - sketchbook or reading book and a drink in a nice shady spot sound like a great way to pass the time!
Oh no, don't vacuum again! Sounds like the situation is really desperate. Have you been cooking? That's gotta beat vacuuming twice.
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain! I could hardly sleep last night thinking about rearranging my studio. My issue is the pool table that is being used as a cutting table. I need to be thinking about the batik queen log cabin I need to start quilting today.
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain! It will be worth it in the end! Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteActually, i had a neighbor who used to rearrange plants alllll the time! Didn't matter what time of year, or what the plant; if she wanted it moved, by golly it got *moved*! She just made sure she watered them a lot.

My house has been torn up since January 14th. It will be beautiful when it's done... but I just want to be back in my sewing room. Temp one in one of the bedrooms, but it's cramped and I can't find things when I want them. Kitchen is almost done. I'm just tired of living like I'm under a bridge.
