QAWM:Day Three
Settings
This one was rejected almost immediately. Blah blah blah.
And while I was enthralled with the running horizontal zigzags, I did a test and found that the lines don't automatically match up when sewn. In fact they are just 1/4" off and that would drive me nuts. Either I would have to scooch it to make it work or deny that they were ever meant to match and neither of those options appealed.
So far this is my best choice. The V's of the stripe are at once important or disappearing. Nothing has to be matched in sewing and the design is very very clear, considering some of the lights are not as light as they could be if this were not such a scrappy quilt.
And assembly will be a snap since four at a time is better than a long strip. Altho...I could sew them in a long strip.
This last arrangement works best for me, too. Very coherent, very fun. Just enough red.

This quilt reminds me of the mitered diamonds you love to knit and so, while it might not be what some think of as a Melody quilt, it seems so very much "you" to me.
