Organize First, Create Later
.

Before I could do anything creative I had to find my stuff. That started a massive redistribution of said stuff along with condensing and tossing out. I emptied six rubbermaid bins and got all my paint stuff in the armoire with some sewing and drawing stuff in there too.

Then I could put all the yarn in the closet, and bring all the fabric into the studio. A place for everything, dustfree and visible. I can't have shelves of fabric stacked up, since it is 98% hand dyed and color is color, not prints. I do have a box of prints now and they will be easy to locate in their own box. On the side of my shelf is the hanging fused fabrics which is what I work from, and will reach for today. Plus two boxes of fused scraps in the armoire which is like 'sprouts' of good ideas.

On the Knitting Front

I found this pattern for mitered square slippers on Ravelry and just had to try them out. The pattern, which I fully intended to follow called for sock yarn (have a ton) and so I dove in, making the smallest size slipper. HUGE when I got this far and I knew I would be frogging the thing, drat.

And I wanted a thicker slipper anyway so it wouldn't wear out so fast, so I switched to a worsted weight superwash wool, and made a slight adjustment in the casting on part, and changed the toe so it wasn't so pointy and elf shoe-ish. Me likey.

At the quilt store, where they also sell yarn (all purpose stash builders that they are)
I found this lovely yarn, a lot like Noro Kureyon, only much nicer and softer and not so felted looking. And dare I say cheaper?

I wanted to make this bag which I also found on Ravelry, because I loved the ice-creamy pastels,
so how did I end up doing it in turquoise and this multi?
Duh.
And do I really want a felted bag? It is little at least, and should shrink down to a nice mini size, but you know I am not much of a bag carryin' gal, no lipstick, pictures, comb or even money, just a bunch of credit cards and my driver's license.

So now without further ado, I am dragging out my fused scraps and getting to it.
