Bound and Quilted

It is minimally quilted, in the ditch, as a precursor to some hand quilting in the plain areas. It really livens up that white chair. Easy to see why I love white woodwork and white furniture. It's a perfect backdrop for my colors.

The lining is a large piece of my hand dyed cotton, from the archives. I think I may have dyed this about six years ago. It's one of those pieces I was saving for something special, as a background and then I stopped making quilts that way, with one large background piece.

I plan on hand quilting with hand dyed pearl cotton threads in big stitches for that dorky homemade look. I have all winter in front of the tv to do this.

gorgeous! thanks for letting us watch this quilt come together & evolve, from the colorful malka inspiration to the final handstitches. it's been a real treat & a great antidote for winter gloom.

are all the solid color fabrics and pearl cottons your own dyed stash?
