Gimme a Little Sugar
.

Chakla by Malka Dubrowsky
I was out there yesterday with the Christmas shoppers, haunting my fave spots of which there are two of each in town, TJMAXX and Hobby Lobby. At the very end when my tootsies were barkin' I stood in line at H.L. and the magazine rack had a new rag from Quilting Arts that I hadn't seen. Stitches.
Inside I saw the quilt above by Malka Dubrowsky. A thrill shot through me.
When I got home, I unpacked my loot and headed straight for the laptop to Google Malka. I was hoping to find more of her work and la-dee-dah, I did.
A gal after my own heart, I tumbled into her color and was floating on the ceiling before long.

She even has a Picasa Web Album of her stuff here (which is how I lifted these images, Thanks Malka!)
Note the color of her wall here. Where have I seen this color before?
As it happens, I am in the midst of wanting new accessories for my Mexican Chalet and now I am all inspired. As it happens, I had purchased 5 or so pillow forms yesterday and I am so ready to make some fun new stuff to toss on the couch. Dave will toss them right onto the floor, but even he knows we need more color in this new room. He mentioned yesterday that he dreamed we painted the living room in four shades of purple and it was BEE-YOU-TEE-FULL.

Here is some more of Malka's work. Is it any wonder I am all afire? Are we kindred spirits or what? And she is a dyer too. In fact the goodiness of her fabric is that she makes dyed stripes. Stripes! How. Utterly. Divine.

  1. wow, had I not known that this was Malka's work I would have thought you were showing things you made. Dyed stripes-yikes, how cool!

  7. I have had her on my blog sidebar for a long time, but I haven't seen her photo collection like this... just one at a time. Can't believe I didn't put the name with her website.

    Melody,

Sorry to be so uncool, but how can I print out
just one of your posts (I want to note your directions for creating a website/blog using Picasa, slide shows, etc)? I selected the copy I wanted and clicked File and Print and it wants to print over 20 pages. Can you help?
