The painting from the photo
When the sun finally came out yesterday I thought it would be a good time to arrange my fresh pears and shoot many 'poses' in hopes of having future fun pear paintings (doncha love alliteration). The room itself is pretty shady without my blazing overheads on, but the light from the sun through the window was lovely, though fleeting, and I shot over 100 pear images.
By the time I stopped fooling around with photography, I had eaten up most of my day, and got a late start painting. In a rush I tried to make this work in just a few hours. I was not happy with the result, until I looked at it again this morning. The brushiness is kinda pleasing, and what is different/better is the cooler light. All this time I have been painting in the light of lamps which cast a warmer light. So the coolness disappointed me...at first. But now I get it. Natural light!
I like 'em. Very soft. Very different from the harsher light.
ReplyDeleteThere is definitely something very appealing about the light in this painting. I like it very much.
ReplyDeleteI think this is one of my favourites - is it going on ebay?
