Tea and Peaches

Tea and Peaches
oil on gallery wrapped canvas, 12x12x1"
Sold

To answer the question "How do you start?" I begin by painting the canvas with a diluted color, then I wipe it off with a paper towel leaving just a tint. I draw with my brush using the same color. Then with a clean brush dipped in turps I remove the highlights.

I really really like this mug and its reflections. I mean really. I found it at the rumdum! The peaches were delicious, juicy and ultra ripe.

  3. You know, I can't think of a better word to describe it than "juicy". It's wonderful! And I keep thinking that I can see a reflection of the artist on the cup...

  7. I liked your answer to 'How do you start?', but my question is from even earler in the process, it is 'How do you see?'.
Your highlights and shadows are so effective giving the 'juicy' feel mentioned earlier, but I wouldn't know where to begin!

I have been following this newest painting adventure and continue to be wowed each and every day. Simply wonderful work.

Is that a self portrait reflection I see in the mug? Very nice, all of it, so very nice.
