I have been playing around with the lighting and have three lights on while I painted this still life. The resulting shadows overlapped and created interesting shapes. I made the yellow cloth as smooth as possible to make the shadows clear. The small ones surrounding the cherries had a contour line around them. I am learning to really see.
wow, the improvement is glaring. not crazy about colour of cloth - prefer to think of it as maybe brown paper. the fruit is looking fabulous.
