A Worm's Eye View
Tiny daffodils, no higher than four inches were discovered yesterday in the shade garden. I wonder if they will be taller when they open, or are a dwarf variety?
Later in the day I found these nearby. Not nearly as swollen in the bud area, so I wonder what kind these will end up being? It won't be a very long wait to find out.
This is the 'before' picture of our sunny spot. Doesn't look too sunny here, but it is most of the time. This is where we will have our flower garden, and where we need good soil delivered and spread. To take this photo, I am standing above the yard, on the retaining wall, which is also a spot for more flowers. The pond needs landscaping too, and it will have to be included in the master plan.
I am thinking that this garden will be my mid-life sportscar equivalent. It all takes time, patience and money...
the second photo has the look of iris, but too short... hmmm. Don't you just love floral surprises?

ReplyDeleteHow will you retain the soil? Without some sort of a wall, won't it wash away....into the pond?
ReplyDeletethe buds in the second picture look like paperwhite buds and maybe narcissus.
ReplyDeleteAnd I might be completely and totally wrong... but the first picture looks like they might be hyacinths. More rounded tip, sturdier leaves, and that crease down the middle. Looks like it won't take much longer to find out.
