We Danced For Hours and Stayed Up Late

and now we are paying for it.

Yesterday Colleen Kay invited us to come dancing, Contra Dancing, (I fixed this link) at an afternoon soiree in Sewanee TN. We had never been to one of these, but knew what they were like from films like Pride and Prejudice and Emma.

It was a riot! There were about 8 musicians, who were fabulous, and they played for about 25-30 dancers, very historic Irish-Scottish-British music. Before the music began the caller taught us the basic steps and while it is simple enough, it all happens faster than our memory responds, and that caused confusion and hysterical giggles.

The exercise was fantastic, and we felt so great the whole time. We know we will go again very soon, now that we finally know more what we are doing.

And then we watched the Oscars. How could we not?

So that meant a very long day, and now I have the slows.
I transplanted some Nasturtiums into a larger pot. That's it for today, zzzzzzzzzz.

  4. Looks like what I we in the old (my youthful) days called square dancing. Being a city person, we thought of it as country dancing too. But then you are in the "country" :) and when in ... you get the point.
