Pine Patch 3

It raining again in the Pine Patch. Yay!

And here is the Pine Series so far...

I have only made 8, so there is one repeat in this ninepatch. Imagine my happiness at finally 'getting the concept' of series work! I have a theme, and a size and repeatable elements, and can make variations that are challenging enough to keep me engaged.

Now that I look at the group I see three specific types: the stack, the house motif and the 'pieced' variation. It's good to be able to analyze the work so I can add to the mix. In the last one I changed the tree design, to reflect trees I have used in previous work.

In this case, a really ancient piece. The trees are red against a really dark green. Hmm. I like the other leaves in this piece too. Good to revisit old work.

  1. I like the black in the vintage fabrics for contrast with your brights and really like the new trees. I think you could do a leaf series too.

  2. It's fun to see them grouped all together. Loooooove them! Especially the last one. It's great to see that they're selling, too.

  4. I like this one the best for some reason... the whole series together is really striking. The variations in the tree values gives a real sense of depth.

    Next!!
