Twilight

Twilight
Hand dyed and vintage cottons, fused, hand and machine quilted
16.5" square Sold
Well this is the story: I had to spend the majority of two days out of my studio and at the dentist office. One day with Dave getting dental surgery while I knitted and then the second day I went for a cleaning. Lots of other errands kept me from getting home and then fooling around with cooking etc, and before I knew it it was bedtime.
Nothing to blog! Yipes.
So I got up at 4 and made this piece which was started and half done on Sunday. I am so glad I did get up and get to work, even before doing email. I am breathing a big sigh of relief because I have a plan. And now I am not behind.

I am enjoying the stripes and dots mixed in with the solids. I know that you use hand dyed fabric in order to avoid the "white edge" problem. In this piece it looks like you have two commercial fabrics (a stripe and a polka dot) next to each other. What do you do about the white edge on the fabric that is placed on top of the other?

  2. Glad the dentist time was short. I get freaked out by dental things. Valium is called for.
Loving the stripes and dots-so cheerful
