Praise the Lord ---We Have a Buyer!
Cousin It, the Clematis, showing off again
Although Cousin It wants to take the credit for making the sale, it was Divine Intervention that sent us a buyer at the very most perfect moment.
Saturday morning I went to IKEA for the last time to buy this little Alex chest.
The duo added another member, the woman's college aged daughter, and the oohs and ahhs gave me hope. I know we are not supposed to be there when the house is being shown, but we were so involved in packing and so we just continued working, and chatting up the guests .
It turns out that the daughter is an artist, so could that be more DIVINE?
By 5 pm we had made the deal and signed the contract. Of course there are tiny contingencies, but I am more than confident that God is not teasing us on this one. Closing is October 15th.
Perfect.
We are getting the moving truck in minutes and have Dave's retired co-worker Don to help us load. The next piece of Divine Intervention will be getting it ALL in the truck. We will drive away early Tuesday morning and 10-12 hours later will be at our new house.
Sometime today I will be dismanteling the computer and going offline. So next time you will hear from me, I will have moved FOR GOOD TO TENNESSEE!!!
I'm so pleased for you, will keep my fingers crossed all goes well.

(cannot email you as my PC has died so I have no address book)
The house always sells when it is at it's worst. It is amazing, but true!
ReplyDelete...it's all in the timing my dear...all in the timing.
ReplyDeleteIsn't life just wickedly cunning?!
In a similarly timed deal, our neighbors were in the moving van on their way to the new house when they got an offer on their house. Just proves you can't make anything happen before its time!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know what variety of Clematis that is!!????
ReplyDeleteSo glad for you Mel and it was fun to put a voice to the face in your video!
Wow! Too much excitement! Life is good.
ReplyDeleteThings will happen when they are meant to happen, and not before. I still can't believe you aren't going to be in IL anymore. It didn't seem real until now.
ReplyDeleteWooHoo... yeah, baby!!! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteClematis looks like Paniculata, a type that blooms from new growth?
ReplyDeleteIt's a Sweet Autumn clematis. I had one at my farm and it took over the back steps to the deck. I am on the prowl for another one for my new home in Michigan and one for Nova Scotia.

Looks like Clematis paniculata IS sweet autumn clematis!
ReplyDeleteDave & Mel,
ReplyDeleteI had a chance to spend a couple days with Dave over the Labor Day weekend, and I must say I love your new house. Dave seems really happy with the place, and it's so quiet and peaceful.
The chickens and roosters? Well that's a personal decision but I'd cook 'em if it were my place. Too messy and they won't stay out of the garden.
But I love the ducks.
And the giant flea market.
And the mountains.
And the silence.
Very nice. It's 579 miles door to door and I hope to come see you again soon.
Goodbye Chicago weather and congestion, hello Tennessee warmth, sun, and calm.
Have fun setting up house and settling-in to Tennessee.

Congratulations on the buyer! Happy moving and I hope you fit it all into the truck.
