Just Ducky
While I love my chickens, I equally love my ducks, and feel I am giving them less attention on the blog. How are they to feel famous, without a mention weekly?
I thought I would name them Ruth and Dick but then I heard they were already named Jack and Jill by the previous owner. I think Dick Duck is a much better name.
They have been keeping cool in the pond, which seems to get lower each day. Hopefully next week the hot weather will break and they will get a good rainfall.
Here in IL we have had two good thunderstorms in the four days that I have been back. The garden loves it.
Mel,
ReplyDeleteI clicked on your blog, saw those two ducks, and just cracked up. Where would we be without our animals? They're always good for a giggle.

I had a great aunt Ruth and she was married to my great uncle Dick!
ReplyDeleteOne of the sweetest elderly couples we have ever known were named Dick and Ruth. They didn't waddle, but they did enjoy going to the pool and dunking their feet...LOL
ReplyDeleteOf course, I would expect that the ducks were expecting new owners to give them new names. Just not Brooke and Terry. That would be weird.
