This piece, once I pinned it to the wall made me think of those photo collages of David Hockney.
Here's one of his Mom. Now this is being done by lots of people, but I didn't set out to make a quilt with this in mind. It may not even look like a photomontage to anyone but me.
The pieces of silk glow against the matte cottons.

Oh, wow.... I llllloooooovvvveeee Fenced Fields! The silks really do glow... they just seem to jump out at you... stunning!

ReplyDeleteI think it's because I can only take in one thing at a time that I am loving Fenced Fields, first. The colors really strike me and make me inspired. The blue just vibrates. Gotta get some silk into my quilts in the future.

fenced fields is beautiful. there is so much depth created by those deep silk colors on the matte tints. such a lovely combination.
