A Happier Day
=
It's time to get back to business, and get into the studio again. I had lots of dyed fabric that needed to be washed out and ironed for the Denver show, coming up the first week of May. I was well into the washout when the phone rang. It was Linda Fowler and Tracy Reiger, of the Quilt Surface Design Symposium. I am teaching there in Columbus OH this June, for seven days. I always enjoy the ambience of this venue, since so many arty types are there. And there is a break mid-session for a trip to Quilt National and several other art quilt shows.
I was delighted to hear that I have been invited back for next summer too! Woowoo!
It's a great feeling to know that people are signing up for a week with me, and it is especially nice since the workshops I am teaching there this year and next are the same as I taught at Hudson Valley, in which so many wonderful pieces were made.
It made me look again at what I started there, and now I am torn between weeding my garden on this beautiful 80 degree spring day or staying in and quilting!

  2. Congrats on your news although it is no surprise. You are a fabulous teacher and a great inspiration to all that know you.
Work in the yard a little today so that you can spruce it up for the new owners.

See that storm system now hitting Minnesota?? It's headed our way. So go outside and enjoy while you can. In the cool of the evening, sit out and enjoy some wine like I did last night on my porch. Today I plant strawberries.

Looking forward to seeing you in June. I will be at QSDS for the entire 2 weeks. Meet you in the bar! Oh, and I will bring a nice wine stash too.....

Just talked to my sister and she is working her way back up the east coast heading home for Nova Scotia. Today she is in Asheville. Kath knows the SE and said check Knoxville too and all along the Smokeys. There are some nice places with still good prices.
