Working in a Series

Here we have the beautiful work of Marcia De Camp. She is a graduate student of the Chicago School of Fusing and did this work before she took my class. It is pieced. Not fused.

We still love the quilt and we love her too. I am not a snob.

This is a cropped image of her quilt, which could become the fodder for another in the series. I just cropped it in Picasa2 and reoriented it for variety.

This is the second actual pieced quilt in her series. It may or may not be pictured correctly here. Who can say? It looks great in any orientation.
Here I have cropped it and will use it as the impetus for more in the series.

A little alteration in the color and then repeating the original as a four patch.

Extending one and coupling it with two repeats.

A horizontal orientation with a ninepatch repeat.

Alternating horizontal and vertical sets.

For more options see this Google slideshow Working in a Series

in which you will also see the fabulous work of Anna Williams, Janet Kurjan, Leslie Riley, and Carol Taylor and our own Tommy Fitzsimmons. I dinked around with some of Tommy's quilt's colorations. I hope she doesn't mind....

  2. I am very happy that you can dink around with different works. I am jealous that I can't quite get how to do it and if I did I wouldn't do it as good as you. Hey, Hi Marcia and Bill!!

Ms Mel, Is there any way you can get the names on the other page as well so that we can connect the works to the name.
    What an eye candy!
