Remember Summer?
Ah yes, those hazy crazy days of lazing around on the deck, in the shade of the new canopy...
which died from too much wet snow all at once.
This is how it looks from my upstairs window. Damn.
O well. One more thing to toss out in our massive clean up. Imagine how surprised and thrilled I was to come home to this brand spanking new bathroom!
We are getting ready to put our house on the market, so while I was away Dave installed this wonderful (I always wanted one) shower door in my bathroom. And he painted the room too! It was lavender and now it is bright yellow, to match the tile. I guess the new-owners-to-be will appreciate this colorway better. He is also putting a shower door in his bath. Two bathrooms is our secret to a happy marriage.
This is my only purchase from my trip. I didn't even find it at the quilt show, but in the St. Louis airport, on my five hour layover... only $5 and it holds my laptop and projector, so I can easily slide it under my seat, keeping it safe from jostling. Plus, it gives me something to rest my short legs, like a footstool.
Strange how something like this can make a girl so happy.
Whew....glad you made it home. I hope this weather improves by the 7th when Jamie flies to LaGuardia. Nice bag.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the canopy. I did remember to have a friend come over and take my shadesail down this fall and am very glad I did!!
Good luck on selling. One of my neighbors had an excellent realtor who had an open house every Sunday. By the third one the place was sold. My other neighbor's realtor hasn't had even one since the place was listed in August...needless to say it still isn't sold and I am pretty sure fewer than 6 people have even looked at it. We are listing the farm in April- guess which realtor I am choosing??

Glad you're home. Great bag! It's wonderful when something so useful is also good looking.
ReplyDeleteI'll be thinking good thoughts for the duration of your relocation. After our move here, I declared that my next one won't be until it's to a nursing home.
Isn't it interesting how the specter of putting-the-house-on-the-market is the one incentive that works for getting improvemnents completed? Oh well, the next owners will love the yellow bathroom WITH the shower door...
ReplyDeleteI second Teri's advice on having open houses. When we sold ours, I dragged my feet, saying it wasn't necessary. After 2 months, I capitulated. The first people through the open house said, "we've been waiting for you to have an open house!" and they bought it!! I guess some people just don't want to bother with a realtor!
ReplyDeleteI can't see the bathroom picture!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm so sad about the can'o'peas!
Love and am coveting the bag...
