Creative Gifting

A wine glass cozy!

My very clever sister Brooke won the Christmas gift sending contest this year. I haven't even made her gifts yet, so I am running dead last. And now how will I ever compete with this fantastic gift that she made me.

Actually I think the cozy was my birthday gift, and the angel is the Christmas part. Since Brooke lives in Singapore the costume of this angel is pretty exotic, and tropical. Tinsel grass skirt and halter top. In the package were a group of wonderful earrings too, which Frieda models for us here.

I got them back, don't worry. Those striped earrings are so me after all. And I just now finished this quilt top, and the Power Point presentation for my Power Strip class this coming week, (and the rest of the year.)

Power Strip Sets
Hand dyed cottons, fused, unquilted at the moment
17x23.5"

Now the real work for my upcoming trip...what shall I wear? Yipes!

  2. What a fantastic quilt. I wish you were coming to New Zealand. I'd take your class. How do you get your fabrics to be so vibrant? Most of the hand dyes I see are rather dull looking.

  3. Is it really supposed to be a wine cozy? I am trying to think of one person that would have a glass of wine long enough to use one. Not anyone I know. But that doesn't mean that it isn't lovely, because it is. I would use it to put my jewelry in when traveling.
