Cocooning

The travel/teaching year has ended and I have two months at home. I plan to clean up my house which is looking like the dumping ground of late. One room at a time is the current idea.
Then I am going to knit and paint and watch a lot of television with my feet up and my brain disengaged. I am not going to cook very much. This is my idea of a vacation.

We are not gearing up for the holidays. Thanksgiving will be a film festival day around here. Maybe a small amount of turkey will be cooked, but really we have turkey so often that it doesn't seem all that interesting anymore. We are still on the no wine diet, and pretty much OK with that. You'd think that I would able to stay awake longer now sans wine, and yet I found myself sleeping through my fave shows this week. But then I was talking all day in class.

I watched online a premier episode of the new brain surgery show called 3 lbs. with Stanley Tucci and Mark Fuererstein. I loved it. However it airs opposite Boston Legal Tuesday 9pm Central, 10pm Eastern.I love that lots of new shows are available online, since my staying awake powers are so limited.

This morning I got an email from out of the blue inviting me to participate in a local arts organization. Painting workshops to take or teach. Hmmm. I don't know the sender, but this is such a good idea that I may investigate further. I am in need of people who get what I am trying to do, painting wise. This site should help.

  1. Glad you're getting a chance to decompress-I bet Dave's glad too..I didn't get to see 3lbs but Stanley Tucci could recite the phone book and I would be enthralled.

  2. I think I will paint with you, sans the dark rimmed glasses. I was thinking about your paintings while driving the other day. That's a good thing isn't it? My humble opinion is that you are doing good work and you can be proud of it.

First things to knit are some more socks and a hat for Dave. Happy resting.
